Dear Resident

Firstly, I would like to thank residents for continuing to report incidents involving youths riding mopeds and off-road bikes in our area. Your information is invaluable and is helping us build a clearer picture of when and where these issues are occurring.

Yesterday, while we were already on patrol, a call came in regarding a youth on a moped. Thanks to the report and a quick response, we located the individual within 15 minutes and recovered the moped, which was found to have been stolen. This is a great example of how your reports can lead to positive outcomes and help us take action.

I also want to reassure residents that I am continuing to push for longer-term solutions. I have personally requested a joint meeting involving Hertfordshire County Council, Highways, Three Rivers District Council, and the landowner of the field where many of these incidents are occurring. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss our findings from our joint visit and to make sure barriers and access to these areas are fixed and to improve safety for everyone using the area.

To give you some background of our joint visit, we have identified the broken fence near to Furtherfield, is the landowner of the field, while the gates are HCC, but some are also Highways and some are Three Rivers, this is why I am pushing for the joint meeting.

Please be assured that we will continue to challenge and work with these departments until I am satisfied that you and your families can use local paths and open spaces without fear or concern from those riding these bikes irresponsibly.

In the meantime, please continue to report all incidents to us. Every report helps us identify patterns, plan patrols more effectively, and ensure officers are in the right places at the right times on the days these issues are most likely to occur.
